A rotoscope animation project capturing New Yorkers' unique complaints about city living through minimalist animation over documentary interviews.
Challenge: Learn a new animation technique while effectively capturing the personality and expressions of interview subjects in a minimalistic style that maintains their authenticity.
I conducted street interviews with strangers across NYC about their city-specific pet peeves, then animated over their videotaped responses using bold, minimalistic lines to create a slightly abstract visual style that emphasizes their expressions and gestures while maintaining their unique personalities.
