graphic designer, design researcher & strategist in NYC with a passion for visual storytelling & social impact work.
Growing up in a creative family, I was drawn to design but began questioning its role in society—why is it often valued for its aesthetics over meaning? Who is creating for whom, and what processes do they use? As designers, we must acknowledge our part in shaping the future and that good design can amplify marginalized voices. This motivates my compassion-focused approach to foster meaningful connections and solutions that lead to healthier, happier communities. I am particularly interested in leveraging my skills to address issues around identity, public health, the environment, and healing. To discover what my design can do, I’m currently working towards an MFA in Design for Social Innovation at School of Visual Arts, where my thesis explores ways to advance health equity by strengthening cultural competency across nutrition care for Chinese diaspora groups.
I have robust print, digital and branding experience, including illustrating (graduated with honours from Parsons School of Design), working in-house for HBO’s design team, and leading nonprofit branding projects as a freelancer. I am also skilled at utilising systems thinking and human-centred approaches to carry out participatory and qualitative research, the facilitation of workshops that hold safe spaces for openness, and the translation of complex ideas into well-articulated, compelling maps. I value commitment, quick learning and detail-orientation.
Opportunities to work in mission-driven cultures incredibly excite me, and I hope to build projects that are both beautiful and socially responsible for as long as I can with as much care as one can give!
In my spare time, you can find me bobbing at yet another indie rock gig 🎸 (feel free to ask me which ones I’ve been to), reading 📚 scientific non-fiction, exploring on solo 🗺 adventures across the city, evolving my latest gut health 🫘 obsession, cheffing it up in the kitchen 👩🏻🍳, and narrating life through emojis/WhatsApp Stickers.
